Callum Asbury named in Australian Men’s Deaf Team Tour of India

Melbourne Cricket Education Academy student Callum Asbury has been named in the squad for Australian Men’s Deaf Cricket Team’s upcoming tour of India.

Reflecting on an eventful start to 2025, Victoria’s Deaf and Hard of Hearing captain Callum Asbury said he is looking forward to representing every young deaf cricketer who aspires to pull on the Green and Gold.

“It has already been a big year, I can tell you that,” said Asbury.

“On the back of the National Cricket Inclusion Championships, myself and the other Victorian boys who have been selected in the Australian squad know that we have more work to do.”

“Playing a team like India in their home country is exciting. Having made my debut there in 2018, I know I can show these boys how amazing the country is and how tricky their wickets are.”

“That’s why I’ve been preparing them over the last month to make sure they are well-equipped for what happens in this series!”

The tour will consist of a T20I Tri-Series between Australia, India and South Africa from March 2-8, before an ODI Series between Australia and India from March 10-12.

MCEA congratulates Callum alongside four other Victorians, on their selection to the Australian Men’s Deaf Squad Tour of India.

All matches will be livestreamed on the Indian Deaf Cricket Association’s YouTube channel.
