The Scott Boland Indigenous Scholarship is named after Australian and Victorian cricketer and proud Gulidjan man, Scott Boland.
The scholarship is a collaborative project between the Melbourne Cricket Education Academy, RMIT University, Scott and his family, and the Cricket Victoria Foundation.
Scholarship Objective
This scholarship aims to provide opportunities for Indigenous students to immerse themselves in the business and sporting industry while undertaking a Dual Diploma in Business, and Leadership & Management. Through this initiative, we strive to deepen connections, support educational advancement whilst giving the scholarship holder career development opportunities at Cricket Victoria.

The opportunity to learn and work within the Melbourne Cricket Education Academy at Cricket Victoria
Personalised opportunities for the student to gain exposure across different areas, including within Cricket Victoria, Melbourne Stars and/or the sporting industry more generally.
Eligibility
To be eligible, applicants must:
Be Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander.
Have their application approved by RMIT admissions.
Be available for and attend an interview as part of the selection process; and
Be willing to support the promotion of the Melbourne Cricket Education Academy, Cricket Victoria Foundation and Scott Boland Scholarship.
Additional Support
In addition to the above, Cricket Victoria will provide in-kind support to each student to a maximum value of $3,500 (as determined by and at the absolute discretion of Cricket Victoria).
The in-kind support is to assist the students and their individual needs in connection with the scholarship. For example, the support may be applied towards:
Student materials (uniform and equipment)
Learning materials;
Project support (the financial student out of pocket expenses);
Additional student opportunities to align with Student’s Pathway and Engagement.
Stakeholders & Roles
Scott Boland will play an active role with the scholarship holders, be part in selection interview and helping by supporting the Scholarship holder with opportunities.
The Melbourne Cricket Education Academy (MCEA) will support the student during their studies and time at Cricket Victoria whilst working alongside the student to explore extra opportunities whilst in the program.
RMIT Indigenous Advisor to be involved in selection interview and supporting the students and connect with RMIT and Ngarara Willim services available.
Cricket Victoria Foundation will subsidise the amenity and material fees, for each scholarship holder and other support to enhance their individual Journey.
Cricket Victoria and Melbourne Stars will help provide personalised opportunities and experiences for each student.
RMIT Enrolment Team will forward on Indigenous Enrolments to MCEA team.
